FASTTRANSFER_DATEFORMAT
Sets the format of the date bounds that the Timepartition parallel method sends to the source database.
Overview
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Parallel Method | Timepartition |
| Default Value | yyyy-MM-dd |
| Valid Values | yyyy-MM-dd, yyyyMMdd |
| Since Version | 0.18 |
Description
With the Timepartition method, each parallel stream reads a range of dates, for example:
WHERE (l_shipdate >= '1996-07-01' AND l_shipdate < '1996-08-01')
The dates are written as text literals and converted by the source database. Most databases read yyyy-MM-dd. If your source needs the compact format, set FASTTRANSFER_DATEFORMAT=yyyyMMdd:
WHERE (l_shipdate >= '19960701' AND l_shipdate < '19960801')
For Oracle sources (oraodp), FastTransfer wraps the bounds in TO_DATE('...', 'YYYY-MM-DD') (or 'YYYYMMDD'), so no implicit conversion is needed.
warning
Only the two values above are accepted. With the Timepartition method, any other value stops FastTransfer with an error before the transfer starts.
